Breastfeeding counsellor training

Hi all, I am thinking about becoming a breastfeeding counsellor. I have contacted NCT, ABM and La Leche and am wondering if there are other organisations that I might contact who might provide training.
Thanks!

Thanks all for your help, I have been looking at the info I have, and based on helpfulness of staff etc, ABM is good. As for the course description, the NCT looks much more detailed.
Now just not sure....

Hi, I would like to ask you all, is there any work for lactation consultants certified by IBLCE at all? if so,where do they work? thanks :)

btw. I am just about to start a BC course with ABM ;) Simply because its as somebody already said - im on my own- Where I dont have to attend any classes and just study from home.

Wow, you really should NOT be a bfeeding support worker wth an attitude like that. You know the WHO actually recommends extended bfeeding? And I assume you'd happily feed cows milk to a 5 year old?
Irony.

Er....this thread is 5 years old.

Why has it resurfaced?

arliasnext- who are you directing your comment at?

marz- unless I've got my wires very crossed, aren't you studying for the IBCLC exam now? Did you do any BFC training too?
