Not liking one side

DD is 14 weeks old and in the last day has started having issues feeding from one side - other side is fine. She is trying to feed fro it but screeching, pulling on and off the nipple. Does it mean there is no milk there? I keep trying to feed from that side.

Really need to make sure she gets good feeds as she is hovering on the on the 0.4 centile and HV wants he to give formula. She has been Attis centile since 2 weeks old although dropped slightly lower last week.

My dd has never liked my left breast. Even in hospital, I had problems getting her to latch.

Nowadays, I've just accepted it. I give her the left when she's sleepy and won't really notice, but otherwise I feed exclusively on my right.

The down side is that I'm now fairly lopsided!

If you weren't seeing your dd enough then she'd let you know. If she's hungry she'll dry. Saying that, formula is not poison. Perhaps try a feed and see how much she takes?

I've had this a couple of times, once a little before 14 weeks and then again at about 18 weeks. First time DD went off the left, second time she hated the right.
I just kept trying to feed from both sides, always started feeds due on the bad side on it then switched if she got angry, and as PP said I fed from the bad side at night when she didn't care. Both times she stopped being fussy after a couple of weeks.
I had very big boobs before becoming pregnant and they're ginormous now so I'm a little paranoid about being lopsided after as it could be quite extreme!

My ds did that at around 4 months. It later turned out he had an ear infection, and laying on a particular side was causing him pain when he suckled and swallowed milk.

After a course of antibiotics, he returned to feeding from the left side again and has done since then.

I think there's a typo in your OP, but do you mean that she's stayed on the same centile?

Unless she's dropping centiles rapidly, being small isn't necessarily a cause for concern. Someone has to sit on every centile line. Mother Nature wasn't aiming to get everyone on the 50th!
