Posseting started at 8 weeks- why??

My baby is 9 weeks old and a week ago started posseting after a feed. I bf and don't know why it's suddenly started.

I haven't changed my diet, the only thing is I've stopped expressing in the morning so could it be a case of oversupply?? I would have thought it would have settled by now and my boobs would be producing less?

Also is it possible he's just greedy? I'm finding it really hard to know when he's had enough. He doesn't pull off, he just wriggles if he has gas so I burp him- how do I know when to stop?? Some of the possets are quite a lot or at least seem like that but he's not distressed or unhappy when it happens.

Any advice appreciated! I ff my other two DS's and am really struggling not knowing how much he's taking and if he's had enough...

There's meant to be a growth spurt around then - may just be that he's taking on more milk but his little tummy hasn't quite caught up yet! He's probably also a bit more wriggly and active in general, which makes overspill more likely.

Thanks bumbershoot. I didn't think it could be a growth spurt. I guess I'll just have to put up With it and put a towel I the sofa!

Anyone else? Smile
