6-week baby is not content

My 6 week old baby is breastfed and after a difficult start due to bad jaundice and problem latching is doing well and growing stadily along his percentile (9th). However he has no more than about 30 minutes a day (divided into two or three ten minutes sessions) during which he looks around and seems content. For the rest of the time he is either at the breast or sleeping. Is this normal at this age? Should he not be having longer stretches of 'content awakenes' by now??

I don't think there's a rule really....they rarely go "by the book". Unless he's screaming a lot or in pain there's no need to worry.

Sounds on the normal spectrum, Ericdam :)

There's a huge variation in this.
