18mo still on formula

ds2 is 18 months old today and still has formula at night and nap time, he's now on follow on milk and I keep trying to give him cows milk with no success.
Im still sterilising bottles, can I stop now?
He's still on bottles for the same reason he's refusing a beaker at the minute although he will have juice or water from one.

Yes you can stop sterilising now. I mixed cows milk and formula until my ds got used to the taste of cows milk. I started with 6oz formula and 2 oz cows milk and then gradually increased cows milk and reduced formula. It took about a month I think. Smile

If he hadn't self weaned recently I would have expected ds to still be breastfeeding at that age so formula should be fine. As long as there's plenty or iron and calcium in his diet, I wouldn't stress too much about cows milk as a drink tbh.

Chickpeas (ie hummus), green leafy veg, red meat, yoghurt/cheese are all good sources :)
