Feeling sad. One week since last BF.

DD 30 months old so I know it's time to stop, but still feel really sad! She asked for a feed on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning but was easily distracted. No mention since. Will my supply have gone?! Is she likely to ask again? Would be interested to hear other experiences! Feel really rubbish!!

What will happen to my hormones now?!

I fed DD1 until 26months, we were both ready to stop and she had her last feed and simply never asked again. In particular her sleep improved as did her food intake and I loved being free to wear what I wanted, plus I lost the last half stone of baby weight.

That's lovely! I think I'd feel better if we were planning on having more children! How did the weight shift after feeding?! Did your appetite decrease?

We stopped feeding at 30 months too, this was approx 2 weeks ago. She's asked a few times but I just say no, it's gone. Easily distracted really.

Same as you, felt sad but ready iyswim. Dd is sleeping longer each morning (was always early riser which meant a feed and co sleep from 4am some mornings); that's all stopped.

I've still got milk. Well when I squeeze it comes out, can't be much though. Have been told its still there for around 3-6 months. Not sure how true.

I'm more hungry and my hormones are all over the place whole other thread because of previous problems I've treated myself to a gift, justified by how much I've saved by not buying formula or tons of whole milk

DD wasn't feeding much at all so no real impact on sleep for me, just missing the cuddling up really!

OH says keep feeding her every now and again if I want to, but I don't want to confuse her, or prolong the agony for me!

I'm in the same boat, finished two weeks ago at 26 months. She's asked a few times but I just say it's all finished. I hadn't considered there would be a hormone change. Could be why I've been down and extra confrontational!

Just have extra cuddles. 30 months is awesome and I I'm liking the gift idea!

The first year is suppose to be about £500 but I said to DP that £10 a month would be fair taking in to account buying cows milk for the last 18 months had we of stopped when dd turned 1.

I brought a Bose speaker thing I wanted, it's very fancy and cool, and will hopefully last years so will be a nice reminder.

Bf'ing means more estrogen is produced, it'll start to level out now. I can already tell but I was going through early menopause in early 20's so it's just like that's been on hold whilst I was pg and the bf'ing. Continuing to bf was very beneficial for me because my body was actually doing what it should with regards to hormones for a change!

panty I'm getting extra cuddles because of stopping - when she asks I say it's all gone but there's a cuddle instead. Dd loves her cuddles now. I come in from work and we sit and cuddle for 5 min, talking about her day.

I'm hoping to get more cuddles now too!
