Quick question - wake for feed or not?

Ds hasn't eaten much today, spat most of his tea out (v funny to watch, but not great for his tum). Had a bit of a fraught bath and getting ready for bed session. Didn't drink ANY of his bedtime bottle at 7.30, went straight to sleep. Am thinking perhaps should wake him at 10.30ish to try him on the bottle again? Or should I just wait til he wakes up himself and see if he's hungry (but did this once before and got a right telling off from HV for giving a full feed overnight!)

my dd2 did this yesterday, she is 10mths and is teething has a bit of a chesty cough (sounds rattly) i knew she wouldnt sleep well when she didnt eat much of her tea about 6.45pm so i put her to bed about 7.10pm. i was thinking when she woke i would feed her and give her some calpol. she did wake at about 10pm so i gave her medicine, fed her about 3 ounces and she went back off to sleep. so imo i would def feed and not tell the HV. how old is baby?

how old is your ds? if he normally sleps through night i think i'd probably wake him later to feed, just so you don't have to get up in the night, if not he is sure to let yo u know when he is hungry. i don't really know about bottle feeding but wouldn't give too much weight to hv 'advice'

feed him when he wakes and ignore your hv

go with your instincts on things like this, it's not like it's going to be happening every day

ds is 12 months, I think he may be teething as we had a terrible night last night, lots of tears and tossing and turning. Very little sleep for either of us tbh. Will heat bottle and take up with me when I go up to bed, leaving him to let me know when he's hungry. (He usually DOES sleep through the night now, but it's been a long time coming!)

btw we have just changed dd2s routine a bit today. i usually give her a bottle about 2.30pm but she wasn't really taking much of it only about 2 ounces so i decided to drop it and feed her proper dinner at about 4pm instead of 4.30pm she then drank 4ounces of her bedtime bottle (she has never drank alot of milk - hates it infact! so 4 ounces is quite a good feed before bed!)

i would keave it till he wakes tbh. if hes hungry he will let u know and if not, you have had a full nights sleep

Thanks all. WIll probably wait and see if he wakes, in case he was going to sleep through.
