why cant i express today?

Dd is 16 days old, ebf. The last 2 days ive expressed a bottle(50-60mls) which shes had in the evening from dh giving me a break.

Today ive now tried twice, and only got 10mls off a full pump cycle, my milk just isnt starting to flow as the last few days.

Dd is feeding ok and my breasts were leaking this morning so there is milk...so why cant i express today?

Hi, I had this problem too and I was producing similar amounts but it turned out to be a problem with the actual breast pump. It might just need cleaned out. (I also have a medela swing). We just washed out the spongy thing in the back then pumped soapy water through the pump system (as per the manufacturers instructions) and then it worked like new again. If you think it's more a supply issue I've heard some people swear by fenugreek tea.

Stress inhibits the milk letting down, could this be a factor perhaps. I've heard people look at their lo to counteract it. Or pump off one while feeding off the other.
