'biting' with gums at night

Ds is 6 and a half months. Since starting solids (blw) he's started waking in the night for a feed having previously slept through which is fine. However at the end of the feed he'll clamp down hard and won't let go. During the day I unlatch him with my finger, say no and distract him but at night this is more difficult and he seems to do it harder. Last night I woke dh up in tears it felt like he'd ripped my nipple off!

I've been lucky and had no pain at the start of Breastfeeding so this is new to me!

Any advice? Even just 'it'll pass and he'll start sleeping through again'!

No advice but my DS is 7.5 months and has recently started doing this too. Very painful - my nipple has felt almost bruised at times - ouch tmi!
Pretty sure my DD went through a similar phase too.

Apart from that just jealous your DS has ever slept through - still dreaming of that day!

When I say sleeping through I mean go 10.30-5 without a feed - he may sometimes need me to hold his hand.

Do you remember when she grew out of it?
