I have stopped breastfeeding my 8.5 month old DS 6 days ago., I reduced the feeds gradually over a couple of weeks and was only down to 1 feed a day first thing in the morning.

since stopping my boobs have started feeling noire and more uncomfortable and today they are quite sore, they aren't hard or red and no hard lumps.

does anyone know how this will last until they stop producing milk and go back to being not painful?

TIA Smile

Hi - seem to remember my boobs took 1-2 weeks after the last feed to properly go back to normal. This was after I had gone down to just morning feeds (and barely more than 5 mins on one boob)
So you may have a few more days to go. I would try to ride it out, obv checking for sore lumps but try not to express too much off.

Meant to say that it's weird how even when you are down to one feed a day, actually stopping altogether prompts them to fill up and go sore.
