I'm going away for 2 days, 1 night and have a 7mo still on 6 ff a day.
How on earth do I wash and sterilise bottles while I'm away??
He is on reflux milk or else I'd just take pre-made bottles. Do hotels normally have facilities to wash bottles?
Help!

Will you have access to a microwave?

Take washing up liquid and A bottle brush then either microwave or cold water steroliser

Most hotels have a kettle in the room, you could rinse bottles with boiling water before use to sterilize

MyNameIsKenAdams · 31/01/2014 07:39

At seven mo Id just wash bottles thoroughly with soapy water, however I also work in a hotel.and would be more than happy to cone and collect bottles from your room and take them.in their steriliser to the kitchen microwave and return them sterilised for you.

Could you give the Hotel a call and see of they would do that or supply you with a microwave?

Pack a bottle of Milton, sterilise in the sink. If you aren't sure if your room will have a kettle, pick up a cheap one.

Take a plastic box with a lid ( shop do them) and some Milton cold water tablets and a pot big enough for hot water to stand the bottle in to warm.

Went camping when ds2 was 6 mths on field with nothing took plastic tub and ster tablets scrub bottled in sink in room he was reflux baby aswell . On another point have you tried Dr Brown bottles they made big diff here .

I think when formula feeding bottles well teats still need sterilising after six months

That's what I was told on here anyway lol

fishybits · 31/01/2014 07:46

Don't bother washing bottles for a 7 month old unless of course you sterilise everything they touch even the floor and use the ready made cartons. Easy.

fishybits · 31/01/2014 07:47

*don't bother sterilising the bottles - obviously you wash them!

lem31 · 31/01/2014 07:55

Thanks guys. Didnt think of Milton. Fishybits - I am a long way from sterilising everything but somehow I feel bottles still need it (even though he drinks tap water from a tippee cup!)

Cariadmawr - yes, they are brilliant. The anti reflux milk is the key though!

I will speak to hotel too to check what facilities they have.

she cant use cartons (said in her first post). I would take a tub and Milton/sterilising tablets and cold water sterilise. Either take a kettle or check if there is one in the room.

We took Dd away at the same age and either used microwave bags (honestly if you have access then they are the best invention ever!) or if not just soaked them in extremely hot (I'm talking from the kettle) water & washing up liquid. I figured that was good enough for a 7 mo.
