Breastfeeding and infant gaviscon

Is there a less traumatic way than a syringe to get this into an EBF baby who won't take a bottle (he doesn't seem to know quite how to suck on it - waiting for 2nd TT referral). He's 11 weeks and we started on gaviscon last week after dr visit - v acidy breath and puking a bit plus crying when laid down. It's just so horrible giving it to him - he screams and takes so much air with it he then doesn't want to go back on afterwards so am worried he's having v short feeds (I have v fast letdown so he's always gulped it down quick mind). I mix it with expressed milk but any other advice?

I use to give a different medicine on a teaspoon to my son when he was 4 weeks or so, would that work?

Thanks - I did try that once but he spat it out - might give it another go.

I syringed it but made it up in 5 mls instead much easier
I used to make it up in a small glass(Nutella glass) and stir, then syringe it, my gp told me he made it up with 5 ml for his son so that's where I got the idea

Oh and I made it up with cooled boiled water

I also used water and I cup fed it. I had little plastic containers with lids (about the size of a shot glass) from when I cup fed in hospital. I would make it up with water just off the boil and because i made such a small volume, probably around 5 mls it cooled really quickly and putting the lid on and shaking helped it mix properly.

Thanks all. Been doing 10 mls but might try 5 then.

We made it up with a little expressed milk and gave it off a soft weaning spoon. Good luck

Yes I used to put it in expressed milk too but then feed dd with a bottle I couldn't get enough for every feed but used to give her 3 doses a day and it calmed it down
