I am ebf my 7 month old dd (although she has also recently started some solids). Me and dh have just dtd and I have now realised my contraceptive pill ran out on Friday. So my question is how much contraception does breast feeding provide and should I/can I take the morning after pill??

Very little protection I believe. Are you ovulating?

I don't knowing you can take MAP while bf. A pharmacist would know.

No not ovulating, I can't believe I forgot!!

GP could fit a coil which would stop a fertilised egg implanting.

NHS says Levonelle is safe when bfing but EllaONE isn't:

I had looked on the internet and told the pharmacist that there was a certain pill I could have but she wouldn't listen!! Phoned the gp and can't get an appointment so someone is hopefully going to call me back. I can't believe at my age I could be so silly!

With all due respect, the pharmacist is being professional. They have a lot of responsibility.
