Yup, can you believe it? A small group of local mums (including myself, obviously!) have set up a community based breastfeeding support group through La Leche League's peer counsellor support programme, and today, we received our first hate mail! The thing that has irritated me most, really, it has, I'm very (insert fave swear word!) annoyed, you see, I just hate it when people mix capitals and lower case letters up together throughout a word for no reason, don't you?

From someone aggreived with LLL or just a nutter with nothing better to do?

IMO, someone aggrieved with the reality of breasts' NOT just happening to be on ladies chests for the sake of page 3 and men alone .

urrm, well, it was something to do with (insert swearing at will!) 'cows, making milk, cows, breeding, dumb cows, and cows' , oh, and did I mention cows?
The author of the original amazing piece of grammatically appalling literature obviously neglected to recall that some poor misfortunates did in fact 'breed' them at some point .
....if someone was willing to write, address, and post this, then no doubt the stalkers wont be far behind, (God help 'em!)

No idea who it might be at the moment. We live in a pretty deprived area, not a particularly nice place at present, but it's going through a massive regeneration, part of which is aimed at improving health and so improving breastfeeding rates are part of that aim (that'd be the unemotional view then!).
For the most part, breastfeeding would undoubtedly be more successful here if breasts came with 'adidas 'or 'nike' or similar, stamped across them .
(I was about to jest about offering free tattooing, but I don't think I'm even going to go there!)

Amazing thing, mysogyny. Good PR opportunity though - send a copy to the local paper to illustrate the level of hatred and bad grammar women have to put up with when they act like women, along with information about the benefits of breast-feeding, and see what level of hoo-ha you can cause in the local press! You could consider passing the letter on to the local police as well, if you want to be really irritating.

Definte tv potential...also (or instead) try Daily Mirror newsdesk. Mirror have good record of supporting bf.

Take some advice from the police, though, too. If there is any risk to you from these idiots, going national could make it worse.

TBH, I think we'll hold on to it for now and see which direction the future content takes (if we receive any more) and go from there.
Guess what? We're going to be on tv, (briefly)!! On BBC and GM, as part of an adult education programme (I'm sure our 'fan' will just lurve that!). We aren't expecting much coverage at all really - but I'll wave from the background! I'll let you know when it's going to be on

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the Daily Mirror tiktok. We've got the go ahead for setting up a 'breastfeeding unit' locally, amongst other things, and we're looking to make a big deal over it
