Sore nipples bfing while pregnant

I am at the very early stages of pregnancy (about 5-6 weeks) and bfing DD (2.5yo), but the last 3 weeks bf has become painful again. It's not mastitis or nipple blisters (I have had these before and they feel different), but the nipples are very sore when she latches and things get progressively better as she continues to feed.

I take it's the pregnancy hormones? How long does this extra sensitivity last? (DD is a boob monster, we have, after much negotiating, cut down to three feeds a day but I don't think she'll be happy to give up!)

It's more likely to be about positioning than hormones. Quite likely that she has become a little lazy when latching on, and isn't opening her mouth wide enough. Encourage her to get into a good position, snugged up really close, before she latches on. The pgcy hormones will no doubt make you more sensitive to bad positioning issues.

(I have not bfed while pg, but bfed older toddler/preschooler, and had similar problems.)

I do an exaggerated latch with her which has always worked in the past, but doesn't seem to make a difference now.

She has also had a tendency to pull away from the nipple a bit and if I try to keep her close, she pulls back again and we end up fighting over the nipple. She's always done this though and it doesn't hurt as much as it does now (it also hurts through-out the feed, not just at the beginning).
