Weird breast behaviour

Yesterday was very strange, had anyone ever had similar?
I woke up with right breast very engorged almost painfully so, and a bit leaky. Left breast was the opposite, abnormally soft. The day before I'd feed approx equally from both sides- I use an app so am pretty precise when I say this.
Anyway I fed DD from engorged right (14 wks, ebf) but throughout the day left stayed very soft and right stayed very full, even up to the evening. I fed from left too, obviously there was something in there (big breasts and oversupply so there's always some!). It was almost like right was refilling with left's milk?!
Then DD had a nursing strike for a couple of hours in the evening. Could it be related? I finally talked her down and feeding was fine overnight, and breasts feel even today.
Weird!!! Just me?

All that sounds 100 per cent normal, Kiki. One thing I can promise you - milk is not migrating from one breast to another :) :)

Most women have unequally-performing breasts anyway - just as we are not totally symmetrical in eyes, feet, and so on.

Babies may stay on one breast for (say) 15 minutes and then stay on the other for an equal amount of time, but the milk removed will not be identical in volume. Timing has very little to do with volume of milk take. Your baby may suck and swallow more, or more vigorously, or with fewer/more little breaks, and each breast may 'perform' differently.

I think probably most women will have some sort of apparent weirdness on some occasions with one or both breasts. It's something that settles down. I don't think the 2 hr strike would be related to any of this.

Thanks tiktok, that all makes sense now I see it written down. Boobs are amazing but also slightly mysterious!
