Clueless about teats!

My lovely 15 week old ds is ebf and thriving. We've been giving him the odd bottle of expressed milk since about 3 weeks so I can get a break at night and can leave him with him husband/sister if I need to go out and he takes it ok although will never take more than about 3ozz just enough to tide him over.

I have a night nanny in tonight for the first time and she suggested that the teat might be too slow for him. I did a lot of research before he was born and chose Nuk bottles for 0-6m and just assumed you use the same teat up to 6 months, is this not the case? What should I be looking for if I get another teat? I liked the idea of the Nuk as they are supposed to be closest to breastfeeding...would they do different teats which I should use? Or is there another brand which I should try?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, it's all quite new to me! Thanks.

First of all: it's great that he's accepting a bottle as many don't. If he's accepted that particular brand I wouldn't rush to change it.

As breastfeeding is obviously well established now I don't think the brand matters too much- he's old enough now for you not to worry about nipple confusion.

As for the flow, we've only ever used Avent number 1 and 2 (0-6mth) teats and dd is now 14mths. Breastfed babies are used to a slower flow than bottle fed babies so it should be fine.

Thanks happydaze! Night nanny was an utter disaster so going to ignore what she said and press on with the Nuk which has been working so far. Thanks for the advice!
