Co sleeping and breast feeding

My ds is 5 weeks old and have been co sleeping and breast feeding him. My dh has been sleeping in the spare room as working and just easier. Now ds and I have some idea how to feed etc dh would like to come back to bed! My question is we've been spread across the whole bed I alternate sleeping either side of ds so he can feed off both sides, he feeds and falls asleep and rolls off. We're planning on putting the cot next to my side of the bed with the side down so how do I feed him off both sides?? Sorry if this is a silly question I'm a tired first time mum!

I just roll over and lift dd onto the other side of me

Could you turn your body up the other way?
So your head would be at the foot end?

Hope that makes sense Grin

With DD1 I used to lift her over me to feed on the other side. Then one day I tried leaning over her a bit to feed from the other breast, and it worked. So with DD2 I've been able to keep her on one side of the bed and feed from both breasts. Maybe when your DS is a little older you can give it a go? I think I was a bit worried about leaning on DD1 but it was fine.

I used to lift DS over me, let him feed and then shuffle him back whilst climbing over the top of him. Super awkward! After a while we worked out a way that DH could sleep with a pillow alongside him so he couldn't roll over to ease our minds that he wouldn't squish DS, so he could sleep in the middle and avoid my midnight gymnastics :-)

I just lean over a bit more and feed dd that way.

I do the lean. Saggy boobs finally an advantage!

DH didn't come back till DS was 7m and we have a super kingsize bed. Still cosleeping at 18m so must have done something right ;)

When my babies were little I switched to have my head at the foot end and back again. Once the babies were a bit bigger and could control their latch with less help and my boobs were more floppy and less engorged I was able to lie a bit further away and lean over to feed either side while keeping my head on the pillow :)

Good luck and well done!

Another leaner here. I just rolled over so I was partially on my front. We managed all 3 of us together successfully for 6 months or so, until DD's wriggling and rolling put DH off! She used to take up over half of the bed!
