Help my baby hates bottles!

Ok it's not an urgent problem as I won't be officially back at work until July/August but I would like to do a few keep in touch days and would also like to be able to leave dd, who is 10 weeks, occasionally with family members.

We have tried tommy tippee and dr brown bottles. She will not entertain the tt ones at all but has taken some bottles of ebm from the dr brown bottles but it's a hit it miss and she is very unhappy about it.

Any tips? I know it's best if I am not there - this is hard though as I would rather be close in case she ends up needing a breast feed. I hate the thought of her being upset Hmm

Dd1 self weaned at 2.5years and we will probably let dd2 self wean too but I would love her to take a bottle of ebm.

I should add that mil and fil age are staying tomorrow night to look after the girls as it's my birthday and dh was taking me out for dinner - but she is refusing the bottle tonight so we will take her tomorrow night. She had bronchiolitis last week and is now getting over it and I don't want her upset Hmm

well some just don't,

leave it a couple of weeks and try again, if no success leave again, eventually when they relies it goes away, they start to wonder what they may be missing out on.

one of mine hated them so much we never managed to get him anywhere near one, one child came round to the idea much later on, and the another wouldn't touch them until she decide to come off the breast much to my shock, and then decided she would rather like a bottle.

I have the exact same problem with my 10 week old dd, but unfortunately I was meant to be starting back at work part time this month. So eagerly looking out for any tips as am getting quite worried at this point. Good luck with yours!

Try NUK bottles - the teats are softer than the other brands we tried with DS1 and eventually got him taking a bottle but it was a bit of a struggle. We started DS2 on them at 6 weeks or so and he's taken to it quite easily (so far, fingers crossed!). The first couple of times he wasn't properly awake and was dozing in his bouncy chair - I don't know if that helped. I remember putting DS1 in his bouncy chair to give a bottle so he wasn't expecting a bf. Good luck!

Someone has recommended the Lansinoh momma bottles - on amazon people have commented that their dc refused bottles until they tried them so I have ordered 2!! Will let you know how we get on!

I have the same problem with my ds. Nuk bottles with the latex teats are good. He will take them after a bit of a squeak.
