Uneven supply

I'm currently expressing and bottle feeding ds as he's struggling to bf, although he has formula sometimes at night. I've found that I can pump 3-4oz fro my left breast but only 1-2 from the right.

Why could this be? There doesn't feel like there's a blockage or anything, it just seems to produce much less milk.

I think this is very common, lots of babies have a preferred side - they feed off that side more so the supply builds more in that boob.

I was going to post about the same thing! I can easily get 2oz or more from the right breast but struggle to get more than 1oz from the left and wondered if something was wrong with me. The right side always leaks too (often through my breast pad, bra and top Hmm) and when she comes off the nipple it carries on squirting out! It's quite annoying...

It's really common to have a 'better' side'. For a lot of women it's the right as they are right handed and that boob has a better blood supply as the arm is used more.

Babies can also have a preference too. It can change over time as they change and grow.

Sounds normal. DD definitely prefers my left side. I don't remember DS having a favourite side though.

Ok glad to hear that it is normal. I express for the same time each side so was confused when the left gives me about 3 times as much.

Totally normal. Now DS is a toddler he can tell me which side he wants and why. It changes all the time.
