How to weam my 16 mo DD

My DD is a milk monster and needs to be weaned, partly for my own selfish reasons (a hen party and wedding abroad I'm the spring to which I cannot take her) and partly because I think she gets too many calories from milk so eats few solids and does not therefore have a varied diet.

I have started by night weaning. This has gone well and my DH goes in to her when she wakes and she is now getting the message and beginning to sleep through.

Daytime is the problem. I have just gone back to work and she is happy and settled in nursery but attacks me like a wild dog when I collect her. I used to feed her on demand and she was in the habit of grazing all day and now wants to feed continuously in the evening. I can't seem to distract her and she gives the cup short shrift. I don't know what to do as my weekends away are drawing close and I don't want them to be traumatic for her and her minder nor for my poor boobs.

Anyone have any tips?
