Question about bf and af

I'm bfeeding dd, now 7 months and just started first period (after ds1 periods didn't return til he was 18 months so feeling cheated!!)

I was wondering if this means my fertility will now be the same as if I wasn't feeding IYSWIM?

Well it's just not a chance worth taking unless you don't mind having another baby. It is likely to mean you are able to conceive.

Have you cut down on bf because your lo is being weaned? This may be the reason why af has comeback.

I'd get on the minipill unless you want a lo?

Rubbish at remembering to take the pill. And dd is living proof that condoms aren't 100% effective Bfeeding felt like that extra little bit of protection against conceiving.

Yes, dd is being weaned. She fights against me bfeeding her during the day. I still offer her breast first but not interested Evening and night feeds still going strong though so had hoped it would've been enough

I know what you mean about hoping bf will give you a bit of protection. I'm not taking any risks so I'm taking the minipill as well as dd1 was 7 months when I got pregnant with dd2(who is now 24 weeks) Don't want that age gap again!

I wonder why your af has come back so much quickly than last time?

but b/f is no protection or condoms dd4 is living proof of that and I had no a/f atall, still was feddng an 18 month dd3.

I am still saving money in that department and dd4 is 15 months and still breast feeding.

If you dont want any more lo do not take the chance --personally I m trying to get dhto get the snip cos I am rubbish at taking the pill lol

Could be the weaning but then after ds2 it was only 3 months and definately wasn't weaning him that young so should be grateful really.

I've just enjoyed not having to faff about remembering the pill and have lost my faith in condoms which tends to spoil our sex life when I spend the entire time telling dp he better not get me pregnant

We've ended up with a close age gap (but not as close as yours!)between ds2 and dd, about 22 months. It's nice but hard work.

Especially when its hot. And I've got back ache. And feel like I'm having 7 missed months of PMT simultaneously

Know what you meanbout the morning after pill kama. I had to take it a couple of times when I first started seeing dp. At the time I thought I was over reacting a bit. I have since had 2 babies the only 2 times we have had unprotected/protection failed sex! So def not taking any chances
