Five month old refusing 10pm feed

My five month old DS (ff) has started refusing his 10pm feed, following a nasty spell of D&V.

We've followed the Gina Ford sleep and feeding routine with him since birth, and he's slept through since about 7 weeks old. The last couple of days, when woken for his 10pm feed, he takes no more than a few sucks at the bottle before refusing it.

He's still sleeping through until 7, and not waking from hunger in the night, so I guess I'm wondering whether not to bother waking him anymore?

Just confused as to whether this is him not needing a late feed anymore, or just a side effect of his sickness bug and to keep trying to give him his late feed.

He normally takes a substantial amount (7oz) at the late feed, so I worry he won't be getting enough milk on only four feeds a day.

Anyone with any experience of this? I know GF is not loved on mn, but she's worked for me and DS so far.

Has anything else changed? Have you started introducing solids?

Are you weaning?

Perhaps in the wake of the bug it might be vest to ditch the food for a bit so he takes more milk. This could just be a develope mental stage though some babies do just drop a bottle of their own accord.

I dropped the 10pm feed at around that time (which was nice, as it was shortly before I went back to work). We didn't have any D&V to confuse the issue, but I did find DD just wasn't bothered for the feed anymore- as you say, a few sucks and that was it, back to sleep. I was nervous about dropping it, but she still slept through and all was well. Why not just try it? You can always bring it back if your baby starts to wake at night...

P.s. maybe add an extra feed during the day? We were still on 5 at that point...

As shatter said.
We had a few early wakings for a few weeks but then bingo - proper full uninterrupted nights sleep! Was marvellous.
Well done baby!

I had started weaning - baby rice with pears in the morning, and pears mid afternoon. Both puréed. But dropped them both as soon as he was unwell, to encourage him to take more of his milk feeds.

Still haven't introduced them back yet, but will do when I'm sure the bug has completely passed. He'll wolf down a pear purée mid afternoon.

Might try and drop the late feed then. Will preservere a few more nights now that he's well again, but if he still doesn't want it I may as we'll let him have the uninterrupted sleep.

When you do give solids, are you giving them roughly an hour after his bottle?
