Started feeling ill and had a fever the night before last, thought maybe mastitis but wasn't sure, left boob started to feel hard today then a bit red and still felt ill. I went to the doc and they diagnosed mastitis and prescribed antibiotics.

DS is 11 weeks old and we've had constant bf problems (TT which was cut then painful latch and still getting vasospasms). This is the first time I've has mastitis and I really thought things were improving so no idea why it's happened now :(
Sorry to moan but I just thought this would be easier by now!

I can sympathise but also reassure you that mastitis shifts v quickly when you start the antibiotics - you'll feel better within 24 hours if you're like me.

We also had a shit start to bf'ing - tongue tie, thrush (thrush thrush and more thrush - awful and very very hard to shift) and latch problems. Eventually I thought all was well and could have wept when I got mastitis but it is easily sorted and just one of those things I think.

I've now been feeding DS for 9 months and have had it twice. Good luck and I promise it will feel a lot better soon.
