Is 'sleeping through' affecting my supply?

Just in search of a bit of reassurance, please!

Over the last few weeks, our DS has just started sleeping through the night; last night he slept from about 11pm to 7:30am.

I think that I have noticed that he is a bit more fussy on my boobs during the day - particularly from around lunchtime onwards. He fidgets quite a bit and latches on and off.

Could it be that him dropping a feed overnight has caused my supply to drop too much? He's 22 weeks actual, 9 weeks corrected.

So as not to drip feed, the back story is that he was a 27 week prem baby, so I expressed for 10 weeks while he was in hospital, and he came home fully breast fed (and I still can't type that without welling up). He has one expressed bottle feed a day at tea-time (around 100ml) in which he has his medications. His weight gain is very consistent.

He still has plenty of wet nappies, but his poo has tailed off slightly. His amount of feeds has stayed around the same despite sleeping through (I still write everything down obsessively). He's fairly happy, alert etc. I don't have a problem with him sleeping through, but am a little concerned about my supply.

Nothing you are saying suggests anything of concern. I found that my baby went through phases of sleeping through early on and then started waking again. Personally I never had supply issues, I had boobies the size and explosive capacity of Vesuvius in the morning but no supply issues. Your local bf group might be able to give you a more hands on advice. Well done on getting your baby too the boob I can only imagine how tough that must have been.

Agree with what neun says. My DD went 7-4am at 3 months and then back to every 2hrs a few months later, then sleeping through etc. It's all a phase and as long as you are following baby, I don't think you will have supply issues - boobs are dead clever! :)

Generally I think stocking up on milk during the day and longer stretches at night is to be encouraged.
