Wind??

My lo is almost 4 weeks old and I am breast feeding. Was having real problems burping but have started using infacol which is helping. She is still having issues with wind at the other end though - she gets really upset and wriggly when she is trying to poo/ fart, especially at night. Any advice for how to help her with this? Have tried reflexology on her feet, cycling her legs back and forth and massaging her tummy.

I have no advice but will be watching this thread as my LO is the same, most of the wind goes down and he's quite uncomfy with it...

Are you bf or ff? If bf are you eating anything which may be contributing to excess wind? Eg. Spicy foods, greens, garlic, onion etc. cutting these out may help.

I didn't find leg cycling did much, but slowly bending legs upwards and lifting the bottom like you do in a nappy change works for us. At 12 weeks, he still gets very wriggly before filling his nappy during the night, but I think this affects my sleep more than his.

Fwiw, I eat lots of spicey food with no ill effects, but I'm starting to think that lots of dairy results in a problematic bottom for him. I think rich food over Christmas was a bit much.

My daughter used to be the same. I found gentle circular rubbing of the tummy helped, lifting the legs up towards the stomach and having a little wiggle, laying her tummy across my lap and gently rubbing the back and standing upright helped.
