My DD is 20 weeks and was exclusively breastfed until around a month ago. I switched to formula with no problems, she would drain a 7oz bottle no problem. But the last few days she's drunk half, then gets fussy and I have to stop. She's still hungry though because she's sucking her hands and whingeing. And if I offer her boob she takes it.

I'm not sure what to do, should I offer her 4oz bottles more often instead of 7oz? I don't understand why she went from drinking more to stopping half way through. I still breastfeed her during the night, normally she only wakes once. Help appreciated!

Probably get flamed, but - she might be letting you know she is hungry for food not milk.... she is that sort of age..

I'd go with offering little and often if that's what she prefers at the moment. She may just be wanting the comfort of breastfeeding if she's accepting boob after the bottle.

teething ? you could try some anbesol or something before a feed ?

You know, she is a big baby and always was, she has a healthy appetite normally. I have already let her have a few tastes of food (I know you're meant to wait!)

I'm just a bit confused as to why she'll only drink half all of a sudden. I think I might stop bf altogether because maybe she knows if she refuses the bottle, she'll get boob instead. She probably is wanting the comfort though! And as for teething - she has had a few teething type episodes but she seems OK at the moment. They keep you guessing though don't they!

I was gonna say teething aswell , my dd does the same at moment, she has 2 teeth and is 19 weeks today. She prefers breast when teeth are causing her pain , good luck xxx
