Help - is this normal bf??

Dd just had posterior tt cut after a real 4 month struggle.
Latch is much better but still confused about two things:

  • dd still regularly finishes feed screaming rather than in milk coma... Is this just her way of telling me she's done or should she be in a 'coma' after each feed??
  • dd still not feeding much in day, but 5 times at night!! Is this normal and do i just have to cope with it for now?

Thanks so much for any help in advance.

When you say screaming, does she calm down soon after? My DS doesn't always sleep after a feed but is generally more chilled than he was before.
As for the feeding at night, I think that's probably normal but maybe you could try offering more often during the day?
Sorry that's probably not much help!

Is she showing any signs of teething? My 4 month old has just got 2 bottom teeth and would scream at done feeds and not at others :)

Thanks bex - she is drooling buckets and lovig her teething toys so maybe this is a reason?

Lilac - she latches, takes a few sucks, screams/pulls away and then tries again a few seconds later... This can go on until I stop trying and give her a break which usually calms her down...

Sounds similar, good luck xxx

Freezing milk and rubbing her gums with it helped her, that and the granules you rub on the gums xxx
