what is this?

during breastfeeding baby sucks for a bit and then stops and i feel his mouth sort of tremble. what is this?

compleately normal.....

I have breast fed five babies and all have done this.....tis the babies way of breastfeeding is all. It is hard work pumping away at a breast, and then when the let down occurs it can often squit away without baby having to actualy do anything, so is a way of resting without pulling away and getting an eye full of milk....and believe me, when breats let down it is with some force. My DH has often been in the way of said let down and got soaked!!!!!

If you think about it, if you were pumping away like that, your jaw word need some type of quiver also to stop it from cramping. (well, thats my take on it at least....not scietific there in the least, but I KNOW that what you have described is an absolutely normal part of the breastfeeding experience.).

I hope this reassures you somewhat.....you go enjoy your baby and all his little quirks

Oooooh.....and let down to US feels like your breast are all tingly and full and hard all at the same time.....bad way of describing I know, but tis an odd sensation. You may what to feel as tho you want to 'hug' your boobs but not, IYGWIM????

thanks everyone!! i don't think i feel my let-down, but i suppose not everyone does although the other side does tend to leak at the same time when it is happening.
