Antibiotics - will they effect appetite?

Dd is 7 weeks. She has an infected belly button and has been prescribed antibiotics. This is day 2 of the course and this morning she has hardly fed, except for a few minutes. She is ebf.

It's not like her. She seems fine otherwise, was bright and alert when she woke this morning at 10am with lots of smiles. She just wasn't interested in feeding so I had to express. She has just fed for a few minutes again (12.30) but has pulled off again and is now sleeping.

Could it be the antibiotics? I was a little reluctant to give her them in the first place - the doctor couldn't decide whether to or not which made me a bit uncertain but I didn't want to take the risk in case the infection got any worse. To most people her belly button would look fine, but I could see some occasional discharge and noticed a smell. The hv said it looked fine and to keep washing it but I saw the gp who took a swab and it came back as infected.

She fed from 1 side at 6.30am, big deep sucks but pulled off before the fluttery sucks and went back to sleep which is her usual pattern. She rarely feeds from both breasts but is following the 75th percentile so I am not worried about this. Her nappy at 10 was saturated.

When DS had antibiotics (8wks) it definitely affected his appetite. After stopping, it took about two weeks to resume. I'm no help, but I think it is definitely normal.

Great thanks - we have has a couple of longer feeds tonight but still not normal for her. I will maybe call gp who prescribed them tomorrow if it continues.
