can you have thrush in the milk ducts but not suffer pain?

What would make you suspect it if there's no pain?

i've been battling it on the outer nipple for over 3 weeks. going back to the doctor tomorrow as dd also has it in her mouth.

I didn't realise until we'd cracked it, that what I had always thought was just the pain of the milk letting down, was actually the symptoms of thrush in my milk ducts. It really hurt each feed, and once we'd cleared all the other thrushes (nipple, ds1 mouth/bum), then this pain stopped.

Laura, what did the your little one get for the thrush?

You have to treat both mum and infant at the same time, otherwise they reinfect each other.

With DS1 we had nystatin drops and timodene cream for his bum. I had canesten for my nipples and canesten pessaries and cream down below.

With DS2, I've got nystatin cream for my nipples, which feels much better than I remember the canesten feeling.

I've also had the daktarin creams/gels, but don't find these as good.
