dropping p.m. feed

hi,
I currently BF my 4.5 month old:
730am
11am
230pm
then I wanted to drop the current 5pm one I do and give her a feed next at 630 after her bath and before bed. The problem is she gets very cranky around 5pm and the only thing that seems to settle her is a feed! Do babies naturally feed more in the evening? Shall I just carry on feeding her at 5pm and again at half 6?
Thanks,

I would. You'll be weaning soon and yeverything will change then. I never managed to push my BF children to more than 2-3 hours between feeds.

why would you want to drop it if your lo still wants it? You're not trying to follow the Contented Baby Book are you as its not entirely compatible with breastfeeding.

I don't know if she wants it really, as she would take the boob every half hour all day and all night if she could, she has never refused boob, she is a very sucky baby and likes the comfort. I just read that 4 month olds can go to 4 hourly feeds and wondered if I should try to drop that one.

I encourage my DD to feed as much as possible in the eve, tanking up for night time is the way I see it.

Ok thanks, and just to clarify, I feed her 2 or 3 times over night too, I have just been crucified on another forum for not mentioning this, and they thought I was only feeding her 4 times in 24 hours!

Definitely keep the 5pm feed then.
