DS is no longer waking for a night feed so he's down to just a feed before bed. Is there likely to actually be much milk? He seems quite frustrated by it, so wondered if he wasn't getting much.

I got down to only morning and evening feeds with my then-2.5 year old and that worked fine, I doubt that only evening would be that different. It's tempting to think it might because extended breastfeeding is so rarely talked about. For help see web sites such as La Leche.

Thanks. I might be confusing tiredness with frustration. But he pulls off, cries, I offer more, he says 'no' etc etc. He's a bit confused himself as he still signs 'milk' but his word is 'side' (cute!) and I wonder if he thinks they're two different things...

No doubt I'm seriously overthinking this, but who knows what goes on in their heads!?

Hmm, actually, thinking about it some more (it's 4 years ago now!) I think mine had nearly given up on the evening feed, it was the morning one he was interested in - maybe because he was more awake and I'd have had more milk after a sleep.

I only fed DS1 at morning and bedtime for about a year, and then only at bedtime for a few months before he finally weaned (combination of self-weaning, pregnancy tanking my milk supply, and a bit of a nudge from me). I'm not sure if there was a huge amount of milk but he still seemed interested.
