DD is 10.5 months and up to yesterday was having 2 BFs daily. SHe has 2 teeth and for the last 3 feeds has latched on and fed for a few seconds then stopped and bitten me repeatedly. THis morning I gave up and expressed and tried to give her the BM in a bottle but no success. I haven't changed my diet, not on any medication and definitely not pg so any ideas anyone? HAd planned feeding til she was 1 but can't go on with the biting.

It's a phase they go through. I say a sharp ah-ah and push his head in towards my breast. If you try and pull them off you then they will clamp down and it will hurt a lot but by pushing their head in towards you - gently obviously - they get uncomfortable and will let go. If the baby bites twice then the breastfeed is finished. All three of my babies learned pretty quickly not to bite.

Agree its a phase. Usually linked to teething in my experience.

I bfed DS until 2.1 years. No biting after 11months-ish.

Yup, just a phase. Nothing to do with a desire to wean.

Stuntnun did you express to keep your supply up? Essentially I have done what you did and stopped the feed but that means she has gone without a BF for 36 hrs.
