Bitey baby - tips for healing?

My six month old has just got his first tooth. Unfortunately, he hasn't quite got the hang of when not to use it and a few days ago he managed to take the skin off part of my nipple.... It's horribly painful and is putting me off feeding him, which makes me sad as he's really not keen on a bottle and I would like to keep feeding him as long as possible for many reasons (I fed his brother until 15 months).

My husband is kindly taking over tonight in the hope that I'll start to heal and we'll also try to do a few bottles at the weekend, but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to speed up the healing process? On the plus side, my reaction to his bite does seen to have put him off doing it again!

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi - I'm in the same boat with a healing nick on one nipple from DS who is nearly 6m. Lanolin ointment seemed to help plus smearing a bit of breast milk on the bite. It has now nearly healed - five days later.
