Oh for goodness sake! DS is 7 weeks old and my period has returned. I feed totally on demand, bed share, use a sling (don't even have a pram) no dummies etc so it's particularly annoying! They came back at 3 months with DD, so I'm not especially surprised, but still...

Anyone else have them return early?

Yup! DD2 was a boob monster and had nothing else. Still got my period at 8 weeks - DD1 was mixed fed for the first month or so and then EBF - no period for 8 months ConfusedBrew

Sunflower1985 · 27/11/2013 16:27

Mine came back for 2 months straight away but then went away again, I think as dropped ff while increasing bf

Janek · 27/11/2013 16:37

I had stopped post-partum bleeding for four weeks and back it came with dd1. Rubbish.

HairyPorter · 27/11/2013 16:42

1 month with DS and 3 months with dd. I felt cheated!

ThisIsMeNow · 27/11/2013 17:06

Yep. 5/6 weeks with dd and she did nothing but feed! HmmSad
Was so mad but not much I could do I guess.

BankWadger · 27/11/2013 17:17

7 weeks is when it came back for me too. DS was also exclusively BF. The lochia bleed had only stopped the week before too, so I was super thrilled Hmm

igirisu · 27/11/2013 19:03

See, now this is why we're using birth control...I thought it was a waste of time whereas DH will do anything to avoid pregnancy hormones for a while but having read this thread, I'm glad we're being careful!

How annoying for you OP

Havinganose · 27/11/2013 19:18

4 weeks. But haven't had since ( 4 months)

mrsmartin1984 · 27/11/2013 19:40

If it makes you feel better. I had one around that time and then the next didn't come until 9 months

monniemae · 27/11/2013 22:03

agh. my baby is 9wks and yesterday I had the most distinctive ovulation pains all day while I alternated between wailing "not fair" and convincing myself I was imagining it :/

youaremychocolatecake · 27/11/2013 22:49

I mix fed my no1 son and they didn't return until I stopped at 6 months. Maybe I got lucky? X

Cavort · 28/11/2013 01:29

7 weeks here as well despite EBFing. Sad

Lochia hadn't even properly stopped. Sad Sad

42andcounting · 28/11/2013 04:53

6 weeks... boo, hiss..

Chottie · 28/11/2013 05:13

FBF and it was 6 months and it was wonderful :)

BillStickersIsInnocent · 28/11/2013 06:03

Ah that's bad luck. Mine came back at 16 months and 18 months. Still breast feeding the 18 month old and was very annoyed when they came back, I should definitely count my blessings Grin

BillStickersIsInnocent · 28/11/2013 06:05

Cripes I sound really boastful. Sorry OP.

rednellie · 28/11/2013 06:13

Always comes early with me. After having twins which are ebf it came back at 4 months. WITH TWINS Angry

MigGril · 28/11/2013 06:26

the problem is we are two well fed in the west. Natural spacing of children in the past has been shown to be between 4-5years. But conditions have to be right for that to work, fully breastfeeding with no artificial teats and slow solids introduction but also limited diet, so low calorie intake so your body doesn't have the resources to support a nursling and a pregnancy.

But as food its abundant in our time and place that isn't an issue.
