sick in day fine at night

anyone else experienced this? its been happening for a number of weeks (hes now 20 weeks) and not sure whether it's a question for the hv doc or not uncommon.

the little man gets quite sick after feeding during the day. im assuming its more than a bit of spit up but it seems like a lot and happens often. at night its not an issue and he gets most of his lasting food then...but of course that means a lot of night wakings. I thought at first he was feeding for comfort but I now think hes genuinely hungry

there are things ive tried. quiet places to feed when possible. trying to keep him still after eating, but even sitting him up to burp him causes him to be sick. I know I have a fast let down which might contribute

his weight is fine. What do you think? a health issue or just a stage. any tips?

Doesn't sound like a health issue - some babies do this, and it's a nuisance best dealt with by wrapping several muslins round them and yourself :)

If he's gonna do it, it's easier to cope with in the day than at night.

Maybe you are leaning back/lying down more at night???

He'll grow out of it soon, I bet :)

Mine is the same - sick during the day but at night I barely have to wind her and she stays asleep. Weird eh? I guess they are just moving around more during the day and get more pressure on their little tummies, whereas they just lie flat at night. Mine is 19 weeks, she is better when she has had formula to when she has had breastmilk, it stays down a bit better.

I'm saying this, but I had to strip her cot last night after she was sick after a formula feed, however that is totally not normal!

My BF 29 week old is the same. He really wasn't a very sicky baby until about the 20 week mark but since then goes through phases of being very sick during the day- though he is very rarely sick at night. He started solids at six months and while he doesn't tend to be sick with those, he is still sick after milk feeds a lot. Currently waking twice for night feeds and seems genuinely hungry- until a couple of weeks ago he'd been on one night feed since about 4 weeks! Confusing...
