hello

my dd 12months has been having semi skimmed cows milk in her breakfast for few months now and no problems. So i thought now would be a good time to swap her formula to cows milk, not knowing any different i gave her semi skimmed milk the next day she had runney poo's. after speaking to me mum i tried whole milk again the same problem. i have only given her 1 bottle of each about 5oz. does this mean shes intolerant to cows milk??? advice please

I can't advise much on the intolerance but children under 2 should drink full cream milk, they need the fats you see. After 2 they can have semi and if you want to give skimmed, wait thill they're 5. HTH Anyway.

Yep - semi-skimmed and skimmed is not for toddlers. It's not so much the fat they need as the fat-soluble vitamins, A & D, which are removed when the fat is removed.

Lots of toddlers have runny poos. Maybe ask your HV about this.

Ah poo knew I should have stopped at "full cream milk."

'Scuse the pun...
