I am bottle feeding but am concerned about limescale in my kettle. It is a new kettle, any suggestions? Thanks

Descale kettle, put water through a water filter before boiling, or alternatively boil the water for the bottles on the cooker in a saucepan.

Mix a solution up of one parts vinegar to 2 parts water and leave overnight. Worked for me!

alternatively, fill kettle and boil. Add one teaspoon of bicarb of soda and stir. Leave for about 15 minutes. Empty kettle and repeat above. Less smelly than vinegar!

presumably new kettle means no limescale yet, and you want to prevent it? Best way of preventing limescale is to filter the tap water first, and to put a gadget in the kettle. I do't know what the gadget is called, but it looks like a little steelwool cylinder. The idea is that the limescale attaches to the gadget first, and only once the gadget is covered does it start attaching to the kettle. So eveyr week or so you take the gadget out and wash it under running water (no need for soap) and squish it well so that the limescale crumbles and falls off, before returning it to the kettle. Very effective - as long as you remember to descale the gaget frequently.

have one of those wire thingies you drop into the kettle - it is fabulous - I never have to descale my kettle - I just give the descale thingie a bit of a rub under running water, the limescale comes off and then pop it back into the kettle and you're done.
