8wo DD, AF has returned

DD is 8wo today, EBF and my periods have just returned. Just a bit concerned, as we had a rocky road getting bf established initially (severe tt).

She's gaining weight ok - approx 8oz a week. And peeing and pooing fine. But she does go for a good 3-4 hours between feeds. Not all the time but at night, and when she has her big morning nap normally. She is definitely not as booby a baby as my DS was. My periods came back when he was 11mo.

Like I say, at night she sleeps well, she only has 1 feed between 11pm and 6am. I figure this is payback for DS's all night nursathons. Is this the reason AF could have returned?

I'm just a bit worried now about my supply and whether it will be ok as she gets bigger. Should I be pumping?

Not an expert but my periods returned within a few weeks of all all 3 dc being born and I was regular again immediately.. Didn't make any difference to my supply and I bf till 2yrs+. Just unlucky I guess - well it felt unlucky at the time! :)

Congratulations on DD

Oh and one of my DC fed almost constantly for 6 months. My supply was fine despite my periods returning.

Mine returned three months after my first and I bf her till she was 20months. With the Dtwins it started after 2 months despite ebf both if them! Don't worry about your supply, if she's happy peeing and pooing she's fine. Just a bit of a bitch having to cope with periods too. I was mighty miffed! Grin

Thanks, that's reassuring. Was just concerned because it's so different from when I fed DS. But he never went longer than 90mins at night until he was well over a year, so maybe it's the big overnight sleeps that are making the difference. Not that I'm complaining!

I'm not sure what it is tbh, the Dtwins only started sleeping through from 15months so...who knows. I wasqquite grumpy about it though. I thought at least with feeding two babies it'd take a bit longer to come back ...oh and I conceived whilst bf so I'm really Hmm about any assumptions about bf and periods!

One of my dearest friends bf 4 , all very fit and healthy. I think the longest she went without Af was 6 weeks.

Don't think its anything to worry about, just seems like rotten luck...
