Hello

I have a 14 week old who from birth has never really been a content baby.

At 5 weeks old he come out in the worst eczema on his face and started screaming the house down, took him the doctors and was told the spots are nothing and the crying is due to a reflux then got sent home with some gaviscon.

6 weeks check i was told he had eczema and got given creams for it which cleared it up in days! Then im told he might be allergic to the milk so was given lactose free formula but was told if he doesnt drink it just carry on with his normal milk. Obviously he didnt drink the lactose free milk.

Then at 12 weeks old i reached breaking point with the crying took him the doctors who said im lucky and theres nothing wrong with him which tbh really pissed me off! So i took him a&e where a paed told me its definitely a milk allergy and to put him back on lactose free milk and take him off all the reflux medication as that is not what is wrong. Also that the eczema will be due to his allergy.

2-3 days after that i had the most content baby and it carried on until about 3 days ago. He WAS having 5 6oz bottles a day but is now refusing bottles and only taking about 2-3 bottles a day!

Anybody else experienced anything like this?

Im on a waiting list to see another paed but could take upto 2 months!

did you change anything else in those three days? is he starting to teeth? if he was good for 3 days, I would check into something else that may be bothering him.

What formula is he on? If it's milk protein allergy he will need hypoallergenic formula, nutramigen or neocate, not just lactose free milk. Also it may be that he needs special formula AND reflux meds. How long since you took him of medication?

After he went a&e and saw paeds they told us to start him on neocate so hes been very content with that for 2 weeks up until 3 days ago.
Just got back from a&e again and they are starting him on ranitidine after observing his feeds, so he will be staying on the neocate as well as ranitidine hopefully this helps
