BF baby refuses bottle - for how long should I keep trying?

Hi, my DD is 10 week old and last week I discovered she wont take a bottle anymore
Last time she had ebm from the bottle was maybe 3-4 weeks ago and she was very good at eating from there. I used Avent bottles and she was happy with those - not anymore. Now I bought TommeeTippee wide neck ones and she doesn't like those either.

I was just wondering how long should I keep trying one type of bottle before trying another one?

Do you have any good tips how/when should I try to give her a bottle?

I REALLY need a day out and my DP would love to spend more one-to-one time with DD.

Thanks!

It's a problem unless you keep up with the bottles.
Have you tried with a cup?
My mother always reckoned mine would take EBM if she put a finger under their chin.

Thanks moondog. Haven't tried a cup yet - will do.

Anyone else?

I have just stopped bf my 1 yr old dd, she went thru a stage where she wouldn't take ebm from a bottle,i tried everything from different types of bottle to cups, i found she was more likely to take it from a teat with those little nobbly bits also i brought a tin of formula and gave her one bottle of formula which she took cos different taste then next time tricked her by reintroducing ebm it worked a treat and had no further probs. hope this makes sense/helps

I wouldn't keep changing type of bottle TBH. If she took avent before, she will take it again.
Have you tried starting her off with a breastfeed and once she is sucking slipping the nipple out and popping the bottle in?

I always used the type of teat tat was variflow (MAWS) where the baby regulated how fast the milk came out. They were called 'Resolve'. Don't know if they make them anymore.

ds had to take ebm from a bottle for a few days when he was poorly at around 4 weeks.... took it fine as he was starving................ but then refused to take a bottle again until he started nursery one day a week at eight months and we tried everything possible short of me going out for 24 hrs and leaving dp and ds to sort it out between them...... maybe you should just go out but be armed with mobile phone just incase it goes totally pear shaped and he needs you back in a hurry!???

Has your dp tried to feed her? I always find my babies wouldn't take a bottle from me because they know the real thing is there!

Thanks everybody for good tips - but today my DD is taking the bottle again!!! Suddenly as she stopped she started again, I offered her one first thing in the morning, couple of minutes crying and screaming and suddenly she started sucking like she never forgotten it!!! Did the next feed with the bottle again and with little fuss in the beginning she drank all of it.
Now I'm thinking giving her every day at least one feed from the bottle - just to make sure she wont forget it again

Don't blame you anka7, my dd3 took the odd bottle very well at 6 weeks but then I stopped giving her one & at 6 months she refuses point blank to take anything from a bottle which is giving me huge problems
