11wo biting at the end of feeds

DD nips me at the end of some feeds. Presumably to tell me she's had enough. How do I discourage this?

I'm not sore, feeding's going well. But I don't want her to keep this habit up as it'd obviously be sore once she gets teeth.

OK my dd did this, and I shouted at her 'Hey!' and it sufficiently shocked her...felt awful but she made me bleed. short sharp shout to shock should solve it

actually my dd was approx. 8mths when I did that...

gentle finger tap on the nose with a firm 'no!' might be better?

I was thinking she's pretty young. DS did this when he was much older and I tackled it much the same way you did. Such a wee one doesn't have so much understanding and I really don't want to put her off.

as soon as she bites, take her off. say No. give it a min, if she's had enough, finish there, if she needs more put back on?

maybe it's a short phase and she wont do again...
I got a nipple infection from my dd biting before she had teeth... antibiotics needed, it got a greenish tinge...

Im sure my HV said to gently blow on her face if she bit me...

A nipple infection, eek, that sounds painful!

Will try removing her every time she does it. Kellymom says to try taking her off at signs of boredom but I'm usually too busy mumsnetting watching the toddler that that sounds impossible!

Actually I've been paying a bit more attention today and removing her when I think she's about to nip me and so far it seems to be working.
