DH is going to try to,give some expressed milk today while I am at hairdressers - just dug out the Dr Browns bottles we used for DD - have no idea where to start with teats as he is along way from newborn but not used a bottle yet?

Also any views on how likely he is to take it - how common is refusal at this sort of age?
Thanks if you can help.

I would use the slowest flow teat as it's likely to be the most similar to breastfeeding. Dd (1yr) still uses Avent number 2.

Bottle refusing is very common in ebf babbies unfortunately, esp at this age. Stay out of sight/earshot. Try it when she's fairly hungry, but not very hungry. Don't push it if she doesn't take to it first time. Or see the many 'ebf baby refuses bottle' threads on here for more advice.

Having said that she may take to it just fine - hope so!

babbies??? I think I meant to type 'babies' !

Thanks for your reply yes I had started to think the slower the better.
I won't be in the house and DH knows we are just giving it a go - I will be back not long after the feed is due.
Fingers crossed though as I have been meaning to try it for ages and have to go to a work thing next week which may be for most of the day
Seriously disorganised !

Also: I would warm the bottle and teat slightly so it's not cold/straight from the fridge.

Thanks happy he wasn't having any if it - so am back home feeding now.
Under pressure to resolve over the weekend!
