How do I make up a bottle?

I am unexpectedly looking after a friends ds, I have an empty bottle and some powder. I know she has 6oz bottles, but how do I make it up. My kids are teenage, and we used to make up bottles in advance and keep in the fridge but I know this is now not advised. Can anyone give me instructions? All help gratefully received.
Thanks

the instructions say: boil the kettle (freash water). leave to cool for 30 minutes, mix with powder, then cool under running water. personally, I'd boil up, make up straight from boiling (or leave in kettle if a bit early for feed) then cool quickly to drinking temp using a bowl of ice and water (just sit the bottle in it). Once you've made the bottle, it's good for 2 hours, so I'd make up earlier than you'll think you'll need because a screaming baby for even 10 minutes feels like hours! (good luck)

Boil some fresh water and leave to cool for 30 mins, then add exactly 6oz of the water to the bottle. Scoop and level off (with a knife) 6 scoops of milk into the bottle. Shake and cool until desired temperature in a jug of cold water.

Know its probably a bit late but if you ever find yourself in that situation again just google NHS baby bottle and the latest guidelines should come up. The important bit is to make sure the powder is mixed with water at 70 degrees c as this will kill off any potentially harmful bacteria in the powder

Hope all went well today Smile

It went really well. The baby in question is a very happy chap. I have forgotten so very much about having little children though! Shock

He went home at about 2pm and I now have Wine so all is good.
