I have done nothing but feed him all day, he hasn't slept since 10am. He has rests of no more than 20 minutes. Now he is very fussy and latches for 10 seconds then fights and cries. He never normally cries! Please help as I'm very tempted to give up breastfeeding altogether!

Im going through the same thing right now with my six week old lol, try burping him as sometimes they confuse hunger with wind. I've often felt like giving up myself to be honest so I never brought bottles just in case I did, good luck and try to stay with it :)

do you have a partner who can take him for a bit?
could you take him out in the car if it sends him to sleep?

i am guessing he is over-tired now and just can't get to sleep.

have you tried going and snuggling in bed with him in the dark and quiet?

I'm having this with my 3 week old. I think it's colic. I'm going to speak to my hv tomorrow. It's like he acts so starving and won't settle, then when I feed he sucks a bit them spits out the breast and gets really angry and cries. It's so tiring Sad

Over tired! Can you give him to someone else so they can get him to sleep? The smell of your milk will confuse him.

Thanks guys! Was definitely overtired! I put him in his babybay, turned the lights off and gave him a boob til he fell asleep Smile he did then wake up every hour and a half starving so def a growth spurt. My hubby took the day off today to help me try to get some rest thank goodness.

Until the next one....
