Possible thrush - please help urgent!

Since yesterday I have had a shooting pain deep in 1 side of 1 of my breasts that starts from the nipple & travels upwards. I'm suspecting thrush as I have no lumps or temperature & feel fine in myself. I've also just finished a course of antibiotics & had a milk blister on the affected side (cracks & wounds increase risk?). So far lo has no symptoms.

I would see my Gp except I'm currently on holiday in Turkey. Most medicines can be purchased over the counter so what do I need to treat me & lo?

Thanks

Horrid for you. This fact-sheet might help. Hope it gets sorted soon.

If it's only one side, it's not thrush, unless it spreads to the other side within a day or two.

Have a read of this before starting any treatment

Thanks for the replies, I'm in possession of some antifungal tablets for me & nystatin for lo. He's still symptom free thankfully & although I'm still in pain it's not add intense. Home Wednesdsy night so if needs be I can see my own gp then.

I found that garlic was very good at keeping thrush away, particularly raw. It may not be the same for you, but I was able to stop with the cream and oral solution (which I hated!)that I had to give LO. The thrush I had quite quickly disappeared once I started upping intake.

When I had trush, when dd started feeding it felt like shards of glass coming through my nipple rather than milk. When she wasn't feeding it was just a dull bruised feeling in my nipples. Nipples looked very pink. Don't know if the symptoms are the same for everyone though.

Nystatin didn't work for us. We ended up using Daktarin oral gel, which worked wonders. I also had ductal thrush, and had Fluconazole for about 10 days iirc.

Not tried the garlic, but most turkish food has some in. Still only got pain 1 side & lo is still symptom free. We originally asked for daktarin but they don't have that here.
The pain isn't getting any worse but isn't really getting loads better. It's uncomfortable in my nipple when he latches but the pain is more after feeds when it's a kind of shooting, pulling pain that starts from my nipple & travels up into my beat & feels quite deep. The pain is also only 1 side of my breast, not the whole thing, if that makes sense?
Sorry for delayed responses but I've only got a very intermittent Internet connection.
