Hi, can I get some advice - am bf with formula top up. One side is much larger than other (even though I try feed from both equally) and is really sore (& warm to touch) for last two days. Anything I can do re size & should I worry re pain? Thank you

Have a google of kellymom mastitis. There is some useful info on the kellymom website Smile

Agree with above check Kellymom. That's sounds like blocked duct/ mastitis. Warm flannels in the shower to encourage flow, try and massage the breast forward towards the nipple to clear the block. If doesn't improve go to gp and get antibiotics ( fine whilst bf!) Pumping after a feed is also recommended to ensure te breast is properly drained. Above all though the best way to clear mastitis is baby feeding so try and spend the next few days doing lots of feeding and consider dropping the formula feeds so baby feeds from you more to clear the block. Dont worry about any advice that says it will be painful to feed with mastitis. I had recurrent mastitis and feeding was fine although if the breast is tender experimenting with positions can help. Hope you get sorted soon

I had this with fever and aches. Sounds like mastitis to me. I fed baby from that side and then pumped afterwards to get rid of anything she hadn't had and it cleared up after a couple of days. The advice I got was to keep a really close eye on it and see doctor if it doesn't get better quickly as I think it can get worse quite quickly. Good luck.
