My wee girl was born on Tuesday evening by emergency section at 40+1, weighing 7 pounds.
I've been offering the breast regularly and doing plenty of skin to skin but she hasn't latched on once. I've then been syringe feeding the minuscule amount of colostrum I can express and topping up with formula. She isn't interested in the formula either and was admitted to the neonatal unit last night as her blood sugar levels had plummeted.
What can I do? Is there any way we can get breast feeding established? The midwives have been wonderfully supportive but this wee girl just doesn't seem interested in food at all - regardless of source or delivery method
