How much of 12 m.o.'s iron requirement is coming from my milk?

Any ideas at all?

My iron levels are very low but I know Kellymom says that even women who have anaemia in pregnancy don't necessarily have babies with low iron levels.

I'm pretty sure DS2's iron levels are low (going to get them tested soon). I'm avoiding supplemental iron for various reasons but I'm trying to give him more iron-rich foods. BM is the mainstay of his nutrition - he eats 3 meals a day but he usually refuses snacks. He has lots of food intolerances so many iron-rich foods are out.

Looking at the RDA etc it seems impossible for him to get all the iron he needs from food alone.

He doesn't drink cow's milk but does drink a small quantity of camel milk (long story...) which is higher in iron and vit C than cow's milk, and has fairly high levels of lactoferrin, which I believe promotes iron absorption.

He is either intolerant to or refuses most vitamin C-rich foods, though I do give him supplements. I cook with an iron frying pan at every meal to help boost iron levels.
